Albany’s WWII Ship The USS Slater Featured In Video Game

There is an online video called World of Warships. It a navel battle game that allows you to be the captain of all kinds of navel ships and submarines.

A lot of them are from the WWII era. One of those ships is the Cannon Class, Escort Destroyer. We just happen to have one of those right here in the Capital Region. The USS Slater was launched toward the end of WWII, in February 1944. Now it's a floating museum and is a piece of history restored that you can visit right here in the Capital Region.

The USS Slater has been featured in a few documentaries on the History Channel, the 1961 movie "Guns of Navarone" and now has been included in a series of historical videos as part of the World of Warships video game.
