Another one bites the dust! Yet another clothing store is shutting down, impacting the Capital Region.

While it seems like the trend of store-closings is less than last year (that's my impression, I don't know the statistics), it still hasn't stopped.  Women's clothing store and chain "Dressbarn" is the next victim, shutting down all of its stores.  According to cbs 6 Albany, that means 650 Dressbarn stores, impacting about 6,800 employees.

There are a few Dressbarn stores located in the Capital Region, and eighteen total in Upstate New York.  I've said it before and I'll throw it out again, it's gotta be tough to run a chain store in today's shopping and technology world.  While I personally like going to a store, trying something on, and buying it, a lot of people I know stick to the world of internet shopping and searching for the best deals. Unfortunately, it's good for them but not the hard working employees that can be impacted by these shutdowns.
