All this talk about Valentines Day always touches on the mushy aspects of the day. Let's take a step back though, and consider how much we still think about our exes. I'm not saying you're still in love with him or her, but just trying to get them off your mind is so frustrating sometimes, even if they make your blood boil.

Break Up With Your Ex Day, has been dubbed as February 13th by YourTango. It's a perfect time to wash your hands of your past relationship and start new. A great tip from the site is to "un-friend" them on Facebook. That's a great idea because you two don't need to know what's going on with one another.

Back before Facebook, you couldn't read statuses to see what bar they were going to on Friday night.Honestly, who cares what they're doing? Stalking them will only make things worse, believe me.  There's a reason for everything, and Glamour and YourTango want to help you break up with your ex.

Here's other steps YourTango suggested:

  • Unfriending him on FB and unfollowing on Twitter and Foursquare
  • Untagging photos or better yet, deleting them altogether!
  • Blocking the guy on instant message
  • Deleting his contact info from your phone and email address book
  • Seeking support from friends
  • I would like to point out that doing this will make you current relationships and future relationships stronger. Your significant other does not want to know you still are interested in knowing what's going on in your ex's life. If you are still interested in learning more, read more about BUPYED at Glamour and be sure to check out YouTango's Facebook page to get support from other Facebookers.
