Here’s Your Capital Region Guide to NFL Games at Metlife Stadium
The National Football League season is underway and, for Capital Region fans, attending and NFL game takes some planning. Here is your Giants and Jets guide to Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
First you need tickets. According to Ticketmaster, the average 'get in' cost of a New York Giants or New York Jets ticket is $265. For Jets games, depending on opponent, date, etc., tickets can be be as low as $80 on certain resale sites.

If you choose to drive to Metlife Stadium from the Capital Region, head south using the Thruway or I-90 E to the Taconic State Parkway, connecting to the Garden State Parkway or NJ Turnpike South to Exit 19W in East Rutherford. Travel time is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes. Here are some other travel options:
- Train - Take an Amtrak from Albany/Schenectady down to New York Penn Station, take NJ Transit to Secaucus Junction, then transfer to the Meadowlands Rail Line shuttle directly to the stadium.
- BUS - Yankee Trails offers bus packages to Giants and Jets games including ticket, transportation, and parking.

If you are driving you will need parking once you arrive. Parking lots open 5 hours prior to kickoff and close 2 hours after the game ends. Official onsite parking starts at $60 but can be much more on resale sites.
You cannot pay at the official stadium gates on game day; a pre-paid digital or printed pass is strictly required to enter. Alternate parking options include American Dream Mall, which is a 15 minute walk to the stadium.

When attending MetLife Stadium for an NFL game for the first time, fans should know that the venue is completely cash-free, enforces a strict clear-bag policy, and tailgating is permitted.
