Capital Region Woman Wins $1 Million on Scratch-Off
A woman in the Capital Region was awarded $1 million Tuesday at the New York Lottery Headquarters in Schenectady.
According to The Times Union, a Niskayuna woman was a $1 million winner after purchasing a Lady-Luck scratch-off ticket on Mother's Day at a Stewart's Shop in Latham. The winning ticket holder Patricia Stanton was introduced with New York Lottery representative Yolanda Vega at a press conference Tuesday. Stanton will receive 20 annual payments of $50,000, which will equal out to $33,590 after taxes. "I was with my mom and we stopped at Stewart's after getting our nails done. I bought a couple of the Lady Luck 7 tickets and told my mom to pick one. Hers was a $10 winner and mine ended up being the jackpot winner," she said. Stanton plans to take care of her family and pay for her daughter's college education with the funds.
Congrats to Patricia Stanton on her big win!
