The 2022 NFL season is going far better than expected for the teams that call MetLife Stadium home.

The New York Giants just beat the Baltimore Ravens in a thriller at-home to win their third game in a row, and move to 5-1 on the season, yet that's not what we're here to talk about. We're here to talk about the team that's gone nearly step-for-step with Big Blue this season: the New York Jets.

Led by another breakout performance by Breece Hall, the Jets put the defensive clamps on the offense of the Green Bay Packers, and won at Lambeau Field to move to 4-2 on the year. That was also the team's third victory in a row.

Following the victory, Jets' rookie sensation Ahmad Gardner got a bit "saucy" with the opposing fans, in a stunt that's now gone viral.

Watch Jets' Sauce Gardner Taunt Fans, Get Attacked by Packers' Player

As it customary in NFL games, players and personnel were roaming around the field at Lambeau following the Jets' 27-10 win over the Packers on Sunday afternoon. Some were speaking with the media, while others were conversing with teammates and adversaries after the final whistle had blown.

Following a game in which he had three solo tackles and two pass deflections on defense, rookie cornerback Sauce Gardner found a souvenir for himself. He put it on his head, and began to have a bit of fun with the less-than-enthused Green Bay fans.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero shows us the rest:

The gag being performed by Gardner only lasts roughly 15 seconds after the start of the video, because of the actions of an oncoming Green Bay Packers' player. The player in question was wide receiver Allen Lazard, who at 26 years old, is one of the elder statesmen of the Packers' offense.

As the video shows, Lazard snuck up on Gardner from behind to perform his attack, and knocked the foam block of cheese from his head, signifying that he and the team had seen enough of the rookie's antics.

A couple takeaways from this stunt by Gardner, and the exchange that followed. It's clear that Sauce Gardner is quickly becoming comfortable as a face of the New York Jets, and that's a fantastic thing for fans of the team. As long as he doesn't go over the line (into the category of fines, suspensions, or retribution from other teams on his teammates during games), then he's moving in the right direction as a future leader.

Also, credit must be given to Allen Lazard for the way he chose to handle the situation. He didn't seem to exchange any words with Gardner, nor did he resort to getting physical with the rookie. He knocked the cheese off of his head, and continued his jog to the locker room.

The one thing I can't seem to understand, though, is where Gardner thought he was going? Once the cheese was removed from atop his dome, he was quickly rebuffed by security who were in the tunnel, and sent jogging the other direction.

Were there multiple points of entry for the Jets' locker room? Was he going to show-off his cheesehead look to the Packers in their locker room? Or, was he just lost in the madness that he created?

The world may never know, but Sauce Gardner's cheesehead stunt certainly put a bow atop a successful day in Green Bay for Gang Green.
