Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington was laid to rest over the weekend (July 29) at a private memorial at the South Coast Botanical Garden in Palos Verdes Estates that brought over 500 people together. Attendees ranged from family, friends, bandmates and other musical contemporaries as they gathered to celebrate Bennington's life and legacy, as well as to pay their final respects.

A new press release from Warner Bros. details that the service was led by Ted Stryker of KROQ and saw a few of Bennington's bandmates and peers take a special part in the ceremony. While the singer was best known for his work with Linkin Park, he also lent his talents to the Stone Temple Pilots between 2013 and 2015. Both Dean and Robert DeLeo of STP linked up with Matt Sorum (a bandmate of Bennington's in Kings of Chaos), as well as Damon Fox and Jimmy Gnecco to perform a touching rendition of "Amazing Grace."

Eulogies were also delivered from some of the singer's musical partners, including Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn as well as Ryan Shuck, who was in the post-grunge outfit Dead by Sunrise with Bennington.

While this memorial was private, others are being held publicly around the globe as fans come together to remember the Linkin Park singer and the impact he made on the worldwide music scene. One fan has even created an exhaustive Google Doc which compiles a list of all events being held in tribute to Bennington, so check for a memorial nearest you to join other Linkin Park fans in honoring the legend.

Additionally, Music for Relief has launched the One More Light fund in tribute to Bennington. Donations can be made here and for anyone who needs support, the Suicide Prevention Lifeline is 1-800-273-TALK.
