While much of Upstate New York is still in the middle of some hot and humid weather many are ready to say good by to summer and hello to the delicious flavors of fall. Whether that be desserts, snacks, comfort food or a drink, the fall flavors are ones that we all enjoy.

The big question is always, is August too soon for these beers to start hitting the shelves? It seems like they keep creeping in earlier and earlier, and at the midway point of August in 2025 stores are loaded up with your favorite fall beers. I have seen coolers stocked at both Market 32 and Hannaford with all of the ones you've been dying for since they left us in November of 2024.

When asking the folks in the Capital Region which fall or pumpkin beers they're looking for these are the ones they told us to be on the look out for:

  • Shipyard (the GOAT)
  • Saranac Pumpkin Ale
  • Sam Adam Jack-O
  • Southern Tier Pumking

What beers are available?

The ones that I saw that were ready for purchase at my local Market 32 were Shipyard Pumpkinhead, Sam Adams Oktoberfest and Jack-O as well as a few ciders from 1911. The Haunted Hayride cider from 1911really peaked my interest. I haven't seen that one before so I think it's important to give it a try.

I know that it is hot outside, but I think having one of these fall beers will really out you in that mindset. Just think of cool autumn air, the crunch of leaves and the sound of a hayride going through a pumpkin patch. Is it too soon? I think that's all subjective. Let's just all enjoy life while we're here to live it.
