Walkthrough Spirit Halloween 2025 at Colonie Center

Yes it is only August but that has not stopped many stores from rolling out their Halloween decor for the 2025 season. As early as July we had places like At Home, Cracker Barrell and Walmart begin to showcase some of their new spooky items. Walmart even rolled out stuff for "summerween" for those who just can't wait for it to be fall.

We all know there there is one store that rules them all when it comes to Halloween, and like Jack Skelington it is only around for a short time once a year. That of course would be Spirit Halloween. I was able to walk through their location at Colonie Center in Colonie, NY over the weekend to see what new items they have for this Halloween.

While much of what they had on their shelves looked like stock from last year, the animatronics were all new for 2025. The haunted subway car was a nice touch, though I'm not sure that the theme was matched by the decorations. Make sure your wallet is plenty heavy, because these items were not cheap.

Usually you'll see Spirit Halloween locations opening up in mid August, but this is the second year in a row that I can remember the Capital Region getting an early opening for one of their stores. Last year when it opened up inside of Christmas Tree Shop former location it was also open in early August.

There are several other locations around the Capital Region where Spirit will be opening locations. Check their website for dates and hours.

I think it's also important to note that you shouldn't yuck anyone's yum when it comes to looking at Halloween decorations or costumes early. This is a favorite holiday and time of year for many, and it is pretty obvious that the "spooky lifestyle" has become very trendy. So just let people live their lives and not worry about anyone but you. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
