
Celebrate America’s 250th at These 15 Capital Region Fireworks Shows
Celebrate America's 250 by taking in several fireworks displays planned around the Capital Region. Scroll down to see the full list below.
This year, on the 4th of July, the United States of America will celebrate it's 250th year of independence. Festivities and events will be taking places from sea to shining sea. Here in the Capital Region of New York State we have everything from food trucks to fireworks popping off in several neighborhoods.

Here are a few examples of celebrations planned around the United States:
- Boston, MA - Walk the Freedom Trail, enjoy Harborfest, tall ships, and fireworks over Boston Harbor.
- Statue of Liberty - The Statue of Liberty will host lighting displays, guided tours and educational programs.
- Mount Rushmore - will be illuminated for patriotic celebrations, including a fireworks display on July 3.
- Charleston, SC - Explore Fort Moultrie and Fort Sumter, where costumed interpreters present musket and artillery demonstrations. Attend Carolina Day 250 and Revolutionary Victory Day featuring reenactments and patriotic ceremonies.

According to USA Today, Sail250 is an International Naval Review that will be making it's way along the east coast from now until July 16th. Stops include New Orleans, Virginia, New York City and Boston.
See more than 60 ships from 20 countries, including tall ships, military vessels and character ships. Head downstate to see Sail250 in Manhattan July 4th through July 8th. Now that you have a good idea of what is happening around the county, let's take a look at what will be happening in the Capital Region, especially the fireworks.
