Another year is about to claim its place in history and sadly shortly after the new year, so will another Capital Region restaurant.

The Bayou Cafe which has been open since 1995 will be closing its doors in just under two weeks. According to one of the owners when talking to the Times Union, "It has been a wonderful experience" said Ralph Spillinger.

Spillinger has been the owner of the Cajun restaurant since its opening 23 years ago. Ultimately the doors will be closed for good after January 6th for a few reasons according to him. One thing he stated while speaking to the Times Union is that it is difficult to find quality kitchen help these days. Along with that, it was auctioned back in November.

It is always tough to see such a well-acclaimed business close its doors. Are you going to miss Bayou?
