A couple of upstate New York casinos including one here in the Capital Region have been seeking financial help, but Gov. Andrew Cuomo says no.

According to The Daily Gazette, Gov. Cuomo said on Wednesday that he is against bailouts for the new non-Indian casinos in New York that are not making the revenue they expected. The casinos looking for help include Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady and Del Lago Casino and Resort in Seneca County. "The upstate gaming casinos are private concerns. They bid, they made an investment and some of them will say they're not doing as well as they hoped or would have expected but they're private concerns, and I don't want to get into the business of bailing out private concerns." Both casinos have been open for 14 months. Rivers Casino was a $300 million project that employs over 1,000 people. The casino has paid $10 million to Schenectady and the surrounding area since opening and will pay a property tax of $3.52 million in 2018.

What are your thoughts on the Governor being against bailing out the casinos. Do you think they should get a bailout? Have you ever been to Rivers Casino & Resort?
