Have a Sweet Tooth? Here Are Some Local Bakeries That Can Help With That!
I have the biggest sweet tooth. You put a cookie, a cupcake, a slice of cheesecake, or pie and I am grabbing a fork and I am digging in. I always wanted to open up my own dessert place but seems radio was more of my calling. So when it comes to getting dessert to bring to parties or family events, I am counting on the professionals to bring the goodies.
There are so many places in the Capital Region you can stop in but these I have gone in, sampled, purchased, and have gotten the, 'wow these are delicious' comments when brought to parties.
I needed gluten-free cupcakes and Dolce And Biscotti Fine Italian Bakery had exactly what I needed. My daughter has a gluten-free allergy and we were having a family birthday party and like me, she loves dessert. These cupcakes were so moist, so chocolatey you would never know they were gluten-free. They have a menu of gluten-free items if you are looking for more than just cupcakes.
Looking for a cannoli? Bella Napoli has the best in my opinion. They always have what I want when I go in and I always come out with more. The Chocolate Chip cannoli is my go-to but I never have been disappointed with any flavor of a cannoli. (do you get a sense I like chocolate)
Cookies are my absolute favorite when it comes to dessert. Maybe it is because I can use my hands and have two and not feel guilty. (The mind games I play with myself.) The best place for fancy and good cookies is Nino's Bakery. When I was little, we always walked to Nino's on Central Ave in Albany and got two loaves of Italian Bread and Italian cookies. Nothing like their homemade butter cookies or Anisette cookies. I suggest you go in and get a tray of cookies so you can sample all the different kinds. And while you are in there, grab a loaf of Italian bread, you won't regret it.
When you are looking for different when it comes to cheesecake, Cheesecake Machismo is the place. Go in for a slice of one flavor and you are most likely to come out with 6 or 12 different flavors, which is known as Frankencakes. One of my favorites, Peanut Butter Cookie (does that surprise, anyone) Every day there is a different selection of flavors so check out their website to see what is available.
