For the fourth year in a row this grocery chain was named number one in the country but is absent from New York.

Upstate New York and the Capital Region happens to be home to some of the highest ranked grocery stores in the entire country. We also happen to have some great local stores as well, but it does not stand up to the number one grocery store in the country.

The honor goes to Texas based chain H-E-B

Four years in a row this grocery store based in San Antonio, TX has taken home the top honor and what's insane about it is that it's not found anywhere outside of Texas besides Mexico. Yes you read that correctly. It's not even in some parts of Texas and still beat out the likes of Aldi, Costco, and Trader Joe's, according to My San Antonio.

The Capital Region is home to several different grocery stores that we all likely shop at on at least a weekly basis.

My go-to place is Hannaford, but we also have Market 32. Having shopped at H-E-B multiple times while visiting my fiancé in Texas I can tell you that them being ranked number one is not a shock to me at all. My only negative thing to say about H-E-B is that I wish that they were in more places so that we could all benefit from this store that offers low prices, great pre-made food, and high quality products.

In the official rankings Market Basket from Massachusetts took the number two spot with Costco coming in third place, beating Aldi. Trader Joe's ranked seventh overall.
