Hey Capital Region! Let’s Check On Your $1400 Stimulus Check
Whether you need the money or not I think most of us want to know when that $1400 stimulus payment will arrive. I know there are some that already have their money safely deposited into their accounts, others have received only half payments and some nothing at all yet.
According to Syracuse.com, the U.S. Treasury Department says it has already sent out 90 million stimulus payments totaling $242 billion and about 150,000 checks totaling $442 million.
If you haven't received your payment and even if you have only received half of the money there is no need to panic. Direct Deposit was first. Paper checks and bank cards are next. What about couples reporting half payments? It appears the IRS is treating each person as an individual, even if you filed jointly. In other words the payment is coming, it just might not be in 1 full payment.
You can always check with the IRS Get My Payment tool. It's easy and secure. You just need your Social Security Number, birthdate, address and zip code. My son was worried because the first 2 times he checked the response was "Payment status not available. Need more information". I just had him try a third time and this is what he saw:
