Hey New York, Do You Return Your Shopping Carts? It’s Time To Start!
I think of myself as a regular guy, someone who tries to do right by others but is far from perfect. I go to work every day, call my mom at least once a week, enjoy a great movie and cheer for my favorite teams. Regular every day stuff mixed with a mistake here and there. We all make them but there is one mistake you should never make.
ALWAYS return your shopping cart at the grocery store, or any store.

You will see this egregious act occur at every grocery store in New York State and beyond. Shopping carts that somehow made it through the entire store, checkout line and to your vehicle but can't roll another 20 feet to the cart corral.
You found the strength to get the shopping cart to your vehicle only to leave it in the space next to you or popped up on the curb near your parking spot. You citizen, are a menace to society.
Here are some of the problems you cause by just leaving your cart like a Neanderthal. Yes, cavemen used to shop at Hannaford.
- You block traffic
- You block an otherwise empty parking space with your cart
- You risk your cart rolling away and smashing into someone's car
- You don't care about your fellow American
According to the Etiquette School of America, and decent human beings throughout New York State;
In the parking lot, place your cart in one of the designated cart corrals. If the store doesn’t offer a designated spot for carts, return yours to the entrance area.
