This small Upstate New York town is filled with bookstores, making it a bona fide book village. Since 2005 the village has been home to around six bookstores and has experienced a resurgence of tourism from book shoppers.
I have encountered many unique destinations in my travels around New York State. The oldest 5 and Dime store in the country, the biggest Christmas store in the Empire State, and we even have the smallest chapel in the world.

Welcome to Hobart, New York, home to fewer than 500 residents and the only Book Village on the East coast. Paradise to those that love to read and explore a town entirely made up of book stores. The perfect weekend getaway, especially because most of these stores are only open on weekends in the Fall and Winter.
