The Great Pumpkin Farm’s 2023 World Pumpkin Weigh Off took place in Upstate New York recently, and history was on-the-line this year. A year ago, the Andrusz family produced a 2,554-pound pumpkin, which at the time, weighed in as the largest pumpkin in North America.

This year, the Andrusz family was once again in contention for a blue ribbon, and once again, they produced an eye-popping pumpkin to the judges.

Western New York Family Wins 'World's Heaviest Pumpkin' Again in 2023

A story from New York Upstate shared results from the Great Pumpkin Farm’s 2023 World Pumpkin Weigh Off, which took place in Clarence, NY. The 28th annual Weigh-Off took place on Saturday, September 30th, and welcomed some of the most impressive gourds from across the country, and the world, onto its grounds.

Once again, it was the Andrusz family, also known as Andrusz Giants, who took home the blue ribbon. Their pumpkin weighed in at 2,023 pounds, squashing the rest of the competition.

The family posted photos of their winning submission on Facebook. Take a look:

WKBW TV in Buffalo also did this news package on the Andrusz family and their extraordinary pumpkin.

Andrusz Giants received a lot of attention for their submission at last year's Weigh-Off: a 2,554-pound pumpkin that was regarded as the largest ever in North America at the time. It weighed as much as a car; a Ford Fiesta, according to our friends at 103.9 The Breeze.

This year, the Andrusz family's submission fell slightly short of that total, but still weighed in at the appropriate weight of 2,023 lbs.
