These New Yorkers Are About To Make More Money, Are You One of Them?
They say if you work hard you will be successful but does that include more compensation? You put in the hours and it can be difficult to make ends meet so you put in more hours and even that doesn't seem to make a difference, until now.
How great would it be to make more money doing the exact same job you have right now. You don't even need to ask for a raise. Soon, certain New Yorkers will be compensated for overtime pay where you weren't before. Are you one of them?
The United States Department of Labor is reporting that President Biden finalized a rule that will increase compensation thresholds for overtime eligibility. Simply put, millions of Americans will be paid more when they put in overtime hours on the job.
- Today - If you are paid $35,568 or less annually, you are eligible for overtime pay.
- July 1, 2024 - If you are paid $43,888 or less annually, you will be eligible for overtime pay.
- January 1, 2025 - If you are paid $58,656 or less annually, you will be eligible for overtime pay.
The Department of Labor is ensuring that lower-paid salaried workers receive their hard-earned pay or get much-deserved time back with their families. This rule establishes clear, predictable guidance for employers on how to pay employees for overtime hours and provides more economic security to the millions of people working long hours without overtime pay. - Wage and Hour Administrator Jessica Looman
