As one would expect, the National Comedy Center is located in one of America's comedy hotbeds: Jamestown, New York.

All jokes aside, Jamestown is the birthplace of comedic icon Lucille Ball, and as such, served as the perfect backdrop for this unique venue. The center opened its doors in 2018, and since that time, has become one of America's top-rated museums.

Less than one year after the museum opened its doors, on February 26, 2019, the United States Congress designated it as the United States' official cultural institution and museum dedicated to comedy. That same year, the venue was named one of TIME Magazine's 100 new and newly noteworthy destinations to experience right now, and one of USA Today's Best New Attractions in the country.

The museum has received quite a few accolades during its short time in operation, yet when you get the chance to peak inside its doors, you'll begin to understand why. The curators have put together over 50 immersive experiences as they take an interactive journey through comedy history, from early vaudeville to the latest viral memes, according to the museum's official website.

You'll recognize names and faces throughout your entire visit to the museum ---  Tiffany Haddish, George Lopez, Margaret Cho, Norman Lear, Jay Leno, Kenan Thompson, Gabriel Iglesias and Jimmy Fallon are a few of the names involved in the interactive exhibits --- and in the process, gain an appreciation for the exponential growth of comedy over the last century.
