Did A Dead President Really Curse The Buffalo Bills?
The Buffalo Bills are cursed. At least, that's what the city of Buffalo has started to believe. From 1990 to 1993, the Bills made the Super Bowl a record breaking four years in a row, and lost every single one of them (including the heartbreaking "wide right" game).
As of 2025, the Bills have still never won a championship, and their fans are getting desperate. In their desperation, they looked past traditional methods, and into the supernatural.

Breaking an NFL Curse
In 2022, Hall of Fam Quarterback Peyton Manning looked to end the misery of Detroit Lions fans. On his show, Peyton's Places, he, alongside actor Jeff Daniels, looked to break the so-called "Curse of Bobby Lane".
The two performed a ritual involving a bathtub full of Whiskey, a cup of salt, and some chanting in the hopes that this would break the spell Layne allegedly put on the team in 1958. Since the episode aired, the Lions have accrued a combined record of 32-10, making them one of the best teams in the NFL.
Breaking the Bills Curse
According to legend, a dead president is to blame for the Bills' lack of post-season success. In 1901, sitting President William McKinley was shot and killed in Buffalo, which the city believes is the reason they have never won a major professional sports championship.
Well, Peyton decided to come to the rescue once again. On the Season 5 Debut of Peyton's Places, Manning, along with Bills QB Josh Allen, did what no one has done for decades in Buffalo: throw a barrel over Niagara Falls. The episode aired on Sunday, November 2nd, and just a few hours later, the Bills defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, who have long been a thorn in Buffalo's side. Whether this will bring the Lombardi Trophy home to Buffalo or not is unknown, but it's the best chance the Bills have ever had to truly end their misery once and for all.
