Paramount Movie Needs NY Actors

If you live in New York and have always wanted a chance to play a role in a major movie, this could be the break you're looking for.

More and more frequently, big-time film directors and casting crews are setting up shop in New York State looking to make movie magic.  And sometimes, Hollywood production crews need to hire local talent to fill desired roles.

According to Auditions Free, Paramount Pictures will be shooting an upcoming "major" film in various locations throughout New York State from January 31st through March 12th, and need "massive amounts of paid actors."

No Experience Necessary

According to the press release, "no experience is necessary" and these are paid roles, and dollar amounts vary.

• SAG Background Artist Rate is $208/8
• SAG Stand-In Rate is $243/8

In addition to Paramount Pictures, HBG Casting has worked with New Line Cinema, Hallmark, Hulu, and countless others, and independent filmmakers, casting TV shows, features, and commercials across the country.

The release states that the production is "seeking all types" of candidates, and needs thousands of background actors. HBG Casting has set up an online submission form for folks in the area who are available to work as paid movie extras.

What Movie is It?

We don't know for sure, and HBG Casting didn't specify which "major" Paramount film they're working on.  But a Capital Region Facebook group that discusses film and industry in the area speculates it's a film called Smile 2. 

Smile, a 2022 American psychological supernatural horror film, was filmed throughout parts of New Jersey for Paramount Pictures and grossed over 217 million dollars making it one of the highest-grossing R-rated films of the year.
