As Cases Surge In Upstate, New York Releases New Measles Tracker
After the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020, people are on edge about other viruses and diseases running rampant.
State governments are among those worried about another spread, and New York's Department of Health is taking steps to ensure another major outbreak doesn't happen again...

NYSDOH Measles Dashboard
In September of 2026, the New York State Department of Health released their Measles Dashboard with the intention of tracking and educating the populous on the disease. It includes much needed information on the spread and treatment of Measles, but also includes maps and charts to see how the spread has been advancing.
The first is a timeline of all confirmed Measles cases in New York State (excluding New York City), which starts on January 10th, 2026 and runs to the present date. According to the graph, cases began to spike on August 1st, and peaked the week of August 22nd with 11 newly reported cases.
In addition, they have also included a map which shows which counties have cases. As of September 17th, Steuben County in central New York leads the pack with 10 confirmed cases. Montgomery County is the only Capital Region area with a single confirmed case, but Otsego County, just outside of the region, has seven.
There are currently 51 confirmed cases in New York State.
