After another mild winter, it looks like our trend of warmer-than-average weather is going to continue in a big way.

Now that spring is here we can officially say all the blockbuster forecasts of 'big winter snow' missed the mark. AccuWeather. From the precipitation side, we certainly had the potential for big snow. But it all came in the form of rain as throughout the season It was simply too warm for snowflakes! According to CBS 6, winter 2023-24 was Albany's warmest on record and the 7th wettest ever recorded.

The Weather Channel predicts warmer temperatures for most of the nation through spring, with New York among the regions where it will be above/most above average. The 3-month outlook is saying the odds are we will have above-average temperatures in the entire state, with Upstate and the North Country having the biggest deviation from the norm.

Forecasters are also saying June could be the start of one of the hottest summers on record nationwide. So that money you saved on your heating bills this winter? Set it aside to cover that electric bill for the AC running all summer!
