This Might Be the Fakest Fake Spring the Capital Region Has Ever Seen
Been There...Done That. Still Don't Like It
If you’ve lived in the Capital Region long enough, you know exactly how this works.
Just when you start thinking winter is finally over… Upstate New York pulls the ultimate fake spring. Personally, I don't like it. But to get over the hump, we'll just need to get through the next few weeks.
Take a look at the upcoming forecast. Temperatures are expected to climb close to 70 degrees this week, which will have a lot of us rolling down the windows, firing up the grill, and maybe even making that first ice cream run to Stewart’s.
Peak "Fake Spring" Forecast Here
For a brief moment, it’s going to feel like spring has officially arrived.
But not so fast.
By this time next week, and just in time for the St. Patty's Day parade in Albany, the forecast shows temperatures dropping right back down into the 20s and low 30s, with the possibility of rain and even a little snow mixing in. Because of course it does.
March Can't Be Trusted
This is classic Capital Region weather. One day you’re enjoying sunshine and mild temperatures, and the next you’re digging the winter coat back out of the closet, wondering why you ever trusted March in the first place.
Longtime Upstate residents know the rules by now: never put the snow brush away too early, and definitely don’t pack up the shovel just yet.
Until then… enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.
