A worker mentioned their belief that the chain could potentially open a new location in Albany, perhaps along Central Avenue.

Last year, Uncommon Grounds took over the spot at Stuyvesant Plaza in Guilderland, replacing Bruegger's, which had been a fixture for 37 years. This shift coincided with the decision of Different Drummer's Kitchen, a longstanding tenant in the plaza, not to renew its lease, making room for a new retailer.

Bruegger’s still operates stores at Hannaford Plaza in Colonie, Village Square in Colonie, Union Street in Schenectady, Village Plaza in Clifton Park, and Rensselaer County Plaza on Route 4 in East Greenbush.

Founded in 1983 in Troy, Bruegger’s started with a focus on traditional New York City-style boiled bagels and cream cheese sourced from Vermont.
