
Winter Weather Advisory Issued: 5 Inches Of Snow In Upstate NY & Western MA This Weekend
As we near mid-April, winter weather continues to affect parts of Upstate New York.
March was more like a lamb, and April has been more like the lion!
While we have not gotten a huge April snowfall, we have had plenty of smaller instances of wet snow and mixed precipitation. That trend will continue this weekend, with some areas expected to get up to 6 inches of snow.
National Weather Service Issues Winter Weather Advisory
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 12 am to 2 pm on Saturday, April 12th for the following areas:
- Western Greene and Ulster Counties
- Berkshire County in MA
Snow is in the NWS forecast with 2 to 5 inches of accumulation expected. Higher elevations in the eastern Catskilles could see higher snowfall totals. Snowfall could be heavy at times with rates briefly hitting an inch per hour overnight.
In the greater Albany area, the NWS has a Hazardous Weather Outlook in place with a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain on Saturday.

When Will It Feel Like Spring Again?
According to the News Channel 13 First Warning Forecast we will dry out Sunday with highs in the 50s and can expect sun and clouds Monday with a high of 62.
