HistoricBridges.com shared that the Kingston-Port Ewen Suspension Bridge is also known as the Wurts Street Bridge. This bridge was first built in the 1920's, located in Kingston and Port Ewen in Ulster County, NY.
Local drivers can now access this newly renovated, historic bridge in the Kingston, NY area.

Wurts Street Bridge In Ulster County, NY Reopened In 2024
Hudson Valley residents were eagerly awaiting the reopening of the historic Wurts Street Bridge. In December 2023, The City of Kingston, NY shared information about the Wurts Street Bridge and the construction along with loud noises as work continued.
For years, I watched this bridge being worked on and finally had the chance to see its new look recently. 101.5 WPDH shared that the Wurts Street Bridge reopened in July 2024 after a 4 year project.
On July 2, 2024, The City of Kingston also shared their appreciation to the NYSDOT and those who made the restoration complete. They were happy to announce this historic bridge is open to cars and pedestrians.

While driving in Kingston, NY, I noticed a bridge lit up in the distance and changing colors.
Once I got to a nearby traffic light, I realized it was the Wurts Street Bridge in Kingston, NY. This newly renovated bridge had a colorful light display going on.
In less than one minute, the Wurts Street Bridge changed colors multiple times, which must be a new addition to its renovation project.
