Heartfelt Plea: Help Track Down ‘Koda’ Stolen in New York
New York State Police are looking for a stolen horse! Take a look at the pictures and description below to see if you recognize "Koda" the horse recently stolen from a New York property. Can you help solve this crime?
Should you have any information please contact the New York State Police at 607-561-7400 and reference case NY2500671337.

Why would someone steal a horse? According to the Animal Welfare Institute, hundreds of horses are stolen each year. Sadly, many of these illegally obtained horses are sold to slaughterhouses. Slaughterhouses typically kill and process them so quickly that it is almost impossible to trace and recover stolen animals in time to save their lives.
Hopefully "Koda" is found quickly and unharmed. This missing gelding was allegedly stolen from a property in the Endicott/Union area of New York.
Koda is described as a 'flea-bitten grey color' which means he is grey with flecks of red and has a darker muzzle. He does have two brands, shown in these pictures, one on his front left shoulder, and the other on the rear left flank.
The brands pictures illustrate a roman letter “L” that looks like an upside down “Y” as well as an arrow pointing up with a line underneath. Koda's owners are also concerned about him because he has special dietary restrictions.
It is believed that Koda was taken from a fenced in property on Struble Road in the town of Union sometime between July 23 and July 24. Anyone with information is urged to call the New York State Police at 607-561-7400, case NY2500671337.
