The images look like something out of a sci-fi disaster movie, but unfortunately for many in the Guilderland area, this was no Hollywood production.  The charred, smokey remains of multiple cars were the result of a large apartment complex fire in Guilderland on Tuesday night.

According to a report from CB6 News in Albany, the fire at Woodlake Apartments in Guilderland started at about 9 PM last night and destroyed a covered-garage area and multiple vehicles at the popular complex.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but authorities believe it started in the laundry room and moved to the parking area.  Some pretty extensive damage was reported to at least one of the buildings.

CBS 6 is reporting that fortunately, there were no injuries.

Here is a video posted by CBS News showing the carnage in the parking garage of the complex that sits near the end of I87, close to Crossgates Mall and Stuyvesant Plaza.

The photos taken during the fire were posted to Facebook by a resident in Guilderland close to the blaze.

Woodlake Apartments is owned by Tri City Rentals, a company that has been providing housing in the area for more than 50 years. Their communities are centered in the three largest regions in upstate New York including Albany, Troy, Schenectady, Saratoga, and Warren counties, and they claim to be "both the largest and most experienced in the apartment community industry."

This is still developing, and if any more details are released, we will update this story.
