- Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda has joined the battle for net neutrality, lending his support in a new tweet urging the striking of Sections 628, 629 and 630 from the Government Appropriations. "It is unacceptable to use a budget bill to circumvent the FCC's open rule making process that millions of citizens participated in," said Shinoda. In a second tweet, he urged fans to text "RESIST" to 50409 to voice support for net neutrality.

- Godsmack have been working on their next album and they've posted a snippet of "Mr. Tony Rombola killin' it' in the studio. Take a listen here. They also confirmed that they're almost done with the new disc, which is expected in 2018.

- Royal Thunder's Mlny Parsonz and Mutoid Man are having more covers fun with Two Minutes to Late Night. Watch them tackle the Motorhead classic "Ace of Spades" here.

- Though Tom DeLonge remains estranged from Blink-182, he apparently has something in the works with drummer Travis Barker. DeLonge posted an Instagram photo of a camera-filled room after agreeing to do an interview for something Barker had put together.

- Parkway Drive will be making their way stateside in 2018. The band will play mostly Midwest, Southeast and East Coast shows in late April and May. See the full itinerary here and get ready for ticket sale starting Friday (Dec. 15) at 10AM local time.

- Wolfgang Van Halen continues to chip away at a new solo album. Earlier this week, the musician posted a snippet of new material via his Facebook page that you can listen to here.

- The upcoming film, Ready Player One, centered on a virtual reality world, appears to have some great music attached. The new trailer features Van Halen's "Jump" and Depeche Mode's "World in My Eyes" soundtracking the action. Watch the trailer here.

- Tonight Alive have unleashed a new video for "Crack My Heart" from their forthcoming album, Underworld, due Jan. 12. Watch yellow-hued vocalist Jenna McDougall's ferocious performance in the clip right here.

- After premiering their song "Edge of the Blade" here at Loudwire earlier this fall, there's now a video for the Prayers single. The band's own Leafar Sayer co-directed the clip with Patrick Wilcox. Check out the clip here. The song is featured on their Baptism of Thieves disc.

- Dream Theater are locked in with Sony Music and their imprint InsideOutMusic for quite a while. The band just inked a long-term deal that will start with the release of the band's 14th studio album. The group has spent much of the last year touring in support of their previous release, The Astonishing.

- Hope you're not claustrophobic. At least Monte Pittman doesn't seem to be in his new video for "Be Very Afraid." Watch the guitar favorite showcase his chops with a number of frightful moments thrown in for good measure here.

- Here's a different sort of promotion. Every Time I Die, Frank Iero and the Patience, Knocked Loose and more are taking part in the Curling for a Cure eBay auction, in which the winning bidder will have a chance to go curling with the participating acts on Saturday, Dec. 16 at the TID the Season show at the Buffalo Riverworks. Get your bid in for curling experiences with the acts here. Proceeds will benefit the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Sisters Hospital.
