Now I know when you think of reality singing competitions you don't really anticipate the next big name in rock to take home the win. On this season of NBC's The Voice however, I think one Capital Region rocker has the potential to not only give the other contestants a run for their money, but bring the rock back to the masses as well.

Moriah Formica may only be 16 years old but shes been rocking the Capital Region for several years already. From the first day I met Moriah I knew that there was nothing but BIG things coming our way from her. Since then she has gone from playing a ton of local venues to opening for multiple national recording artists even recording, writing, and performing with Michael Sweet of Stryper! Now she's on to her next big adventure as a contestant on season 13 of NBC's 'The Voice'!

Her blind audition for the show aired on Monday night and I think the entire community was excited to see every judge on the panel turn their chair and fight for the opportunity to have Moriah join their team. Ultimately Moriah chose to be on #teammiley which seemed to be a bit of a surprise to many who were expecting her to choose Adam Levine.

Moriah stopped by the studios this morning to fill us in on what this whole experience has been like this far, why she chose Miley instead of Adam, what the next step is in the competition, and how she aims to bring rock back to the forefront of the music charts! You can check out our full interview below ...

The blind auditions continue on NBC's 'The Voice' this week. Make sure you are keeping up to see Moriah during the battle rounds in the coming weeks! 'The Voice' airs on Monday nights from 8pm to 10pm on NBC!
