
Missing New York Man Found: Tragic End to Extensive Search
Sad outcome in the case of a man that had been missing for nearly 4 months. New York State Police report that the body of a Broome County man, officially reported missing in January 2025, has been found behind a school bus garage.
On Friday January 3, 2025, according to a New York State Police press release, 68-year-old Edward L. Crampton was reported missing to State Police in Binghamton. Mr. Crampton had not been seen by his family since Thanksgiving time.

Just before 1pm on Wednesday March 19, 2025 New York State Police responded to the report of possible human remains found behind the school bus garage on Main Street in the town of Windsor, NY.
An investigation has determined that the deceased individual is 68-year-old Edward L. Crampton. No foul play is suspected in his death.
Edward L. Crampton was known to stay in his vehicle on Old Route 17 near ARS Auto in Windsor, NY. Initially the vehicle was located but Mr. Crampton never returned. Troopers had checked the area, with local shelters and local hospitals but had not been able to locate Crampton.
According to Press Connects Mr. Crampton, a huge Frank Sinatra fan, was once an avid speed skater and owned a popular bar in Windsor, NY, "Taylor's Place", named after his daughter.
