We all have the following eight common health problems and complaints, and we usually turn to pills or other medicinal forms. However, that can get expensive fast, and medicine will only last so long and go so far. Here are natural remedies for everyday problems. They are less expensive, and a little will go a long way.

  • Burns: immediately after the burn takes place, apply ice or run under cold water. Next, apply aloe vera gel, and if you're out, you can rub a raw potato slice over the burn, as its cool and soothing juices will bring relief. Honey also works, as it contains antibacterial properties. Lastly, you can use mustard, as it serves as a great salve.
  • Sore throat: whether it's from a cold, flu or everyday allergies, a sore throat can be quite annoying. Leave those throat lozenges on the shelf, because all you need is to gargle with warm salt water, followed by a nice hot cup of soothing honey-lemon tea.
  • Bleeding: this is shocking, but if you put a bit of cayenne pepper on the area, it will quickly stop the bleeding and relieve any pain. Sometimes the thing that you think would be the worst actually helps, go figure.
  • Nausea:  this can result from a number of problems, and is always such a nuisance and makes you want to do nothing but lie down and go to sleep. When that's not an option, however, there's always a plan B. Put down your Pepto-Bismol, because anything with ginger will help- ginger ale, ginger tea or even ginger candy. Sniffing real lavender or peppermint oil also helps.

  • Allergies and rashes: these are perhaps the most common and most annoying health complaints. Whether yours are seasonal, or everyday like mine, here are alternative ways to deal with them. Green tea is super healthy and can provide relief, with its natural antihistamine properties. Drink 2-3 cups a day for a full, lasting effect.
  • Acne and skin problems: remember when you were little and had chicken pox and your mother gave you an oatmeal bath? Well this same remedy can help with your skin problems. For acne, wash your face with the oatmeal, as it acts as a natural exfoliate and erases oil and other skin impurities.
  • Headache and migraine: the remedy for this all-too-common problem is similar to the remedy for nausea, which is helpful since headaches and nausea can go hand-in-hand. In addition to sniffing your lavender or peppermint oil, rub some on your temples and neck. You can also rub a freshly cut lemon or lime on your forehead, or drink some green tea and use an ice pack for the pain.
  • Heartburn and indigestion: we all love to eat, but a lot of the foods that we love can cause heartburn and indigestion. It's not pleasant in the least, and makes you not to want to even eat those yummy foods. Don't reach for your tums, however, because all you need is a couple spoonfuls of apple cider vinegar. Sure it won't be easy to swallow or taste, but it will be worth it, as it will balance out your stomach and its natural acids, which is why you got heartburn in the first place.
  • If you're tired of always depending on medicines and other OTC remedies, try the above suggestions. They'll make you feel better, and will leave you with money in your wallet and extra time that you didn't have to run to the store. You'll also feel better in the long run knowing that you're healing your ailments naturally. After some time of using all natural solutions, your body might repay you, and you might not experience these symptoms as often.
