Just before 10:30am on Monday a man went in to the Glens Falls National Bank on Broad Street in Glens Falls. He passed a note to the teller demanding money. Although there was no weapon shown, the teller handed over some cash and the guy took off, running toward Mission Street.

Police from the Glens Falls Police Department, State Police, as well as Warren and Washington County Sheriff's responded to the scene with police dogs and a police helicopter to try and locate the robber. Mission Street was closed to traffic for a short time as police searched.

At nearby Glens Falls High School, officials put a lockout in place - canceling all outdoor after school activities and moving any outdoor sports activities inside. Classes still went on as scheduled and there were no changes to dismissal times.

The robber has yet to be found, but police have released security camera stills from the robbery. He is described as a white male, somewhere between 5' and 5'4" tall. He was wearing a tan jacket, grey sweatshirt and green pants. His face was covered by a camouflage bandana and he was wearing sunglasses.

Police didn't say how much money he got away with and at this point police don't believe there is any immediate threat to the area, but need the public's help in finding the robber. If you have any information you think might help, you can contact the Glens Falls Police Department at 518-761-3040.

Just two weeks ago the South Glens Falls McDonalds was robbed at gunpoint, but no word on if they're related.
