New York State Police Seek Your Help, Do You Know These People?

Times are difficult for many people right now. The cost of everything has reached a level where some folks have to decide if they can get by with half a tank of gas for the week. Others are trying to figure out how 3 bags of groceries became $100 when it used to be half that.

We all know the saying "desperate times call for desperate measures". The motives here are unknown but New York State Police are asking for your help in identifying individuals suspected of SNAP fraud.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is an electronic benefit that the State of New York offers elderly residents, low-income residents and a variety of people in need. With a SNAP card you are able to buy food such as meat, fish, bread, fruits and vegetables.

A family of 4, for example, could reach a maximum monthly benefit of $939 each month. That is roughly $60 per person each week. Now imagine someone steals your card and you have no money for food.

New York State Police in Troop C are asking for your assistance. Can you identify the subject wearing the Tommy Hilfiger sweatshirt and winter cap? This individual and others were involved in unauthorized purchases using a benefits card.

On December 8, 2022, these individuals captured on surveillance cameras at the Weis Market on Conklin Avenue in Binghamton, New York.
