"Jaws" is my all-time favorite movie. I bet since it's release in 1975 I've watched Bruce the shark terrorize the small island community of Amity 200+ times. It's one of those movies that I can recite almost every single line and I never get bored watching it. I have a couple of friends that are Jaws nuts like me and if they see that it's on TV they will text me so we can "watch" the movie together. I've seen "Jaws" on the big screen, on the small screen, on my phone, and even once while floating in a giant pool, but I've never seen it at a drive-in. Well, this weekend at the Malta Drive-In that changes.

The Malta Drive-In at 2785 U.S. 9, in Malta, is playing a double feature this weekend with some serious teeth. First, starting around 9 p.m. is Steven Spielberg's masterpiece, "Jaws." Then at 11:15 p.m., the second feature starts with even more teeth, "Jurassic Park." Obviously the Malta Drive-In "spared no expense" this weekend. So many teeth "you're gonna need a bigger screen."

Also, just FYI The Malta Drive-In has a second screen and is playing "Infamous" and "Birds of Prey."

So what's going on at the other drive-ins in the area?

Well, this weekend at The Jericho Drive-In at 21 Jericho Road in Glenmont is also jumping on the Steven Spielberg bandwagon showing "E.T - The Extra-Terrestrial" at 9 p.m. and "Jurassic Park" at 10:55 p.m.

The Hollywood Drive-In at 9270 NY-66, in Averill Park, is going nostalgic too with a double-feature of the 80's classic "Footloose" with Kevin Bacon at 8:55 pm and John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John's "Grease" at 10:55.

Since the coronavirus pandemic, there are new guidelines for drive-in theaters. Masks must be worn outside of a vehicle, a reduced number of vehicles will be let in, and social distancing will be practiced at the concession stand and bathrooms.
