RUSH can add another award to their vast collection.  Their rock documentary Beyond The Lighted Stage took home the award for Music DVD of the year at the 2011 JUNO awards.  It was about time they won for this.  The Grammy's snubbed them for a lame Doors movie this year so I am happy to see them take home some recognition for this.  The rock doc takes you through the history of RUSH from the beginning to present day and the Time Machine Tour. It has countless interviews with people in the music industry including Vinnie Paul, Billy Corgan, Taylor Hawkins, Gene Simmons and more.  Beyond the Lighted Stage also took home the audience choice award for the movie at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival.

We are almost approaching the one year anniversary of the death of Slipknot bassits and founding member Paul Gray.  Corey Taylor, lead singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour, sat down with Caller.com for an interview to talk about he is still struggling with the loss of his friend and band mate.  In the interview Corey said that Paul was "irreplaceable" and that part of him "still isn't ready to carry on without him".  Taylor also said that if not for Gray's involvement with the band Slipknot may not have even existed.  Slipknot is on the festival circuit this summer and will be playing big gigs like Sonisphere and Rock in Rio, but Taylor adds that doing these shows will be like baby steps.  To check out his complete interview, head over to Caller.com.

Nikki Sixx is a pretty vocal guy especially when it comes to his band and band mates.  Revolver Magazine, the premiere rock and heavy metal mag, sat down to talk to Nikki about whats going on with the Crue, his new book and the summer tour with Poison.  He got talking about Crue front man Vince Neil and Neil's book, Tattoos & Tequila: To Hell and Back with One of Rock's Most Notorious Frontmen, and said when they asked him about Vince he had to be honest in saying that he is one of the best front men of all time.  I do love the Crue, but I don't think I can put Vince up next to Freddy Mercury, Bon Scott and Robert Plant, but that's just me.  To read more of Nikki's Revolver interview you'll have to go pick up the March/April issue which is in store now.
