This New York Region Named Best Outdoor Adventure In Country

Summer is here and so are the outdoor adventures! Outside Magazine recently released the top 36 best places to visit in the United States for adventure and, luckily for us New Yorkers, we made the list!

The Travel Award categories include best beach adventure, best river adventure, best road trip adventure and many more. New York State has been singled out as the location with the best mountain adventure in the nation, but which mountain range exactly?

According to PeakVisor, New York State has 3849 named mountains across 3 major mountain ranges, Adirondack, Catskill and part of the Appalachian Mountains. Each range offers a variety of adventure with hiking, skiing and family fun.

Now that we have narrowed it down, which was named best in the Nation for outdoor mountain adventure? I can tell you this, the decision appears to be based in large part due to the newly available lodging in the region. Of course hiking, mountain-biking, fishing and boating were also key factors.

The Catskill Mountains were named the Best Mountain Adventure in the Country 2023! Along with a variety of activities, Outside Magazine identified the Chatwal Lodge and the De Bruce all-inclusive culinary stay as just 2 fine examples of what the area has to offer.
