We can't thank our emergency responders enough for the work they do, day in and day out, showing up to the job each day without having a clue what they're in for.  If that isn't challenging enough, in some cases, our firefighters, EMTs, police officers, and hospital workers are thrust into action to help out an individual that almost seems unworthy of their professional attention, but they perform the task anyway.  It can't be easy, especially when this happens.

On Tuesday afternoon, according to the Daily Gazette, a woman was involved in a one-car rollover after she flipped her truck in Rotterdam on Putnam Road.  With her truck upside-down, first responders arrived at the scene and began the process of extracting the minor from the vehicle.

According to the Daily Gazette, when the first responders arrived, that's when the fists started to fly.

"While first responders were getting the driver out of the vehicle the driver punched one of the emergency medical services personnel," Lt. Kyle Girard told the Gazette.

The driver of the vehicle according to the report sustained an "upper-body injury" and was taken to Ellis Hospital, while the first responder who was punched by the minor didn't sustain any real injuries and has declined to press charges.

Kudos to the first responder who seems to be taking the high road in regards to getting punched by the drunk and obviously belligerent individual who, instead of assaulting, should be appreciating the work of the emergency responder. Just another day in the life of our frontline heroes.
