Massive Recall on White Coated Candy Sold at Walmart and Target in New York
A major product recall has many of us searching our pantries to avoid potential salmonella risk.
Another day, and yet another risk of contaminated food. Seems to be the status quo here in the United States. That's concerning for a number of reasons, but this latest one could come with some serious side affects.
What are they you ask?
Oh just diarrhea, stomach cramps, and fever. All for just indulging a bit and enjoying some candy. Life can be oh so cruel.
In the latest food recall we have white coated candy as the culprit. What's worse is that the candy in question is sold at many locations that many of us here in Upstate New York regularly shop at.
Stores carrying the candy:
- Dollar General
- Target
- Walmart
Even more worrisome is that it's not just one candy that is in question but multiple packages and varieties from the Palmer candy company.
The report from CBS says that Palmer was notified of the potential salmonella contamination from the company that provides them with the liquid coating. So if you've got any candy from Palmer that has white coated items in them I'd trash them until this whole mess gets sorted out.
They're talking white chocolate pretzels and yogurt covered items - you name it. If it's got some white coating on it you could be on your way to sick-ville. That's not really a bucket list destination for me, but to each their own.
The FDA has more information on the recall as well as a list of the affected products.
