Schenectady Was Featured On Jeopardy Tuesday Night
Did you catch the Capital Region question on Jeopardy last night? "The zip code 12345 in Schenectady, New York lights up this company that began operations there in 1892." Of course you knew the answer...right? General Electric.
Schenectady and GE came up in the $1,000 clue in a category "Fun with zip codes" and centered on General Electric's special sequential zip code, 12345.
There has been a lot of focus on Jeopardy lately, but it's mostly been centered on Alex Trebek's battle with cancer and what looks like his inevitable leaving the show in the near future.
It's such a dumb thing to get excited about your area being mentioned on a national TV show....but it's also kinda cool....especially when you know the answer on Jeopardy....and that doesn't happen very often for me.
