Stone Sour’s Roy Mayorga to Serve as ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’ Guest Drummer
Another week, another drummer from the rock and metal world guests on Late Night With Seth Meyers! Stone Sour's Roy Mayorga has been tapped as the latest guest drummer to sit in with the 8G Band, starting tonight (Aug. 14) through Thursday (Aug. 17).
Mayorga said he is "really excited" to be the house drummer in a post on Instagram (seen below). The Stone Sour skinsman has been enjoying a remarkable year as Stone Sour hit the road with Korn earlier this summer in support of Hydrograd, the band's latest album. The record debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200, moving 33,000 units in its debut week. Meanwhile, one of the lead singles, "Song #3," became Stone Sour's fourth No. 1 active rock hit.
Tune in to NBC at 12:35AM ET / 11:35PM CT as Mayorga joins an ever-growing list of Late Night guest drummers which already includes Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden), Abe Cunningham (Deftones), Danny Carey (Tool), Charlie Benante (Anthrax) and Tim Alexander (Primus).
Starting next month, Stone Sour will hit the road with debaucherous hair metal sensations Steel Panther alongside Cherry Bombs with additional support coming from Man With a Mission and Beartooth on select dates. The tour will run from Sept. 23 through Oct. 21, finishing up at the 2017 Aftershock Festival. All dates can be found here and check listings carefully because not every band will appear on each stop.
