Full disclosure, for the purpose of this list, Upstate New York is every where in NY besides NYC. Surprisingly there is quite a few spots on this list that are just a short drive from the Capital Region.

Since it seems like we may be finally over winter it's about time to get out and enjoy all the awesome scenery that Upstate New York has to offer. NYup has put together a list of the 25 Best Places to Hike in Upstate New York based upon the number of reviews and star rating for a location on Yelp.

Albany County only had one location make it on the list. Coming in at #10 is John Boyd Thacher State Park, Voorheesville, Albany County with 4.5 stars, 30 reviews. Which should really come as no surprise to anyone who has been to Thacher Park the views from the park are absolutely breath taking.

Seeing as though the list contained some great spots from all across the state I was quite surprised to see that there were actually quite a few locations that were just a short drive from the Capital Region.
