Upon arriving at Q1057 I learned very quickly that you and the entire Capital Region love Classic Rock! How could you not? These are the greatest Rock songs of our lives performed by some of the greatest artists of our time. No matter which era you grew up in we are surrounded by songs that have touched our lives and were there for all of the bonfires, keg parties and Summers spent at the lake.

In addition to Free Beer & Hot Wings, Steve King, Levack and myself we are so fortunate to have "House of Hair" hosted by Twisted Sister's Dee Snider. Now we get to hear these songs with stories told from an artists perspective every Saturday night starting at 9 on Q1057. Dee Snider! Singer! Broadcaster! Christmas Crooner! More on that in a second.

I grew up listening to KISS, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and The Stones. As I went through the 80's my interests turned to Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue and Ozzy! Did I like Twisted Sister? My memory is that I loved the album "You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll which came out in 1983. By the time 1984 and "Stay Hungry" came out I had started to move on. That is somewhat ironic due to the fact that the biggest commercial success that Twisted Sister had was with "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock" from the "Stay Hungry" album.

I'd like to jump ahead to 2021 but for now let's stay in 2020 and the release of "The Magic of Christmas Day" by Dee Snider! Dee duets with Lzzy Hale of Halestorm for an original Christmas song available on November 13th. You may have heard this song before as Celine Dion recorded the composition for her 1998 album "These Are Special Times". That album has been identified as the biggest selling holiday album in history. Will Dee and Lzzy have similar success? Time will tell and Dee will tell you all about it on House of Hair Saturday night's starting at 9 on the Capital Region's Classic Rock Station Q1057.
