Thirty Seconds to Mars Tease 2017 Album Release
It's been a while since we've heard from Thirty Seconds to Mars, but frontman Jared Leto's film career has been pretty full of late. However, it appears that the multi-talented entertainer is ready to trade his Suicide Squad for his musical squad as a new trailer has surfaced suggesting that a new Thirty Seconds to Mars album is in the works.
The clip, seen above, opens in a remote locale soundtracked with Middle Eastern chanting and an electronic-driven beat. Meanwhile, the visual suggest that the band has decamped to a desert location to work on their music. You see the guys enjoying their surroundings rock climbing, but also getting to work jamming out material. As the video ends, you see Jared Leto approaching a microphone about to sing when it fades to black. The final image is a vinyl record partially buried in the desert sand before the lettering reveals, "Thirty Seconds to Mars / Interscope: 2017."
When Thirty Seconds to Mars return, they'll be recording for a new label. The band signed with Interscope after a well-documented legal battle with EMI and Virgin. Following the release of their fourth album, Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams, the band completed an extensive touring run and then worked out their next label deal.
While the band has mostly been out of action over the last couple of years, they have founded their Camp Mars destination event for fans. The latest edition will kick off next week with a kick-off party Aug. 11 in Calabasas, Calif., followed by the three-day retreat Aug. 12-14 in Malibu, Calif.
