This Legendary Upstate New York Venue Changes Name In $4 Million Deal
Do you still refer to MVP Arena in Albany as the Knickerbocker Arena, Pepsi Arena or the Times Union Center? In the late 1990's arenas, amphitheaters and venues around the world were selling the building's naming rights to the highest bidders. Simply put, this is a smart way to generate some non-traditional revenue for a business.
There is a venue in Central New York where hundreds of thousands of concertgoers gather to hear their favorite artists each Summer. In 2024 the pilgrimage will resemble previous seasons with one major difference.
According to Live Nation, the name of this Syracuse venue has been changed from St. Joes Amphitheater to Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview.
Sponsoring the amphitheater is a wonderful opportunity for us to invest in Central New York. We want to be with you and the community as we create lasting memories together, and the amphitheater is the perfect place for that. - Empower Federal Credit Union
Syracuse.com reports that the $4 million deal is effective immediately. Even though the name of the Live Nation concert series has changed, nothing changes regarding your tickets to upcoming concerts.
No need to exchange tickets for new ones. Dates and performances remain as scheduled. Here are some shows already on-sale for Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview.
- June 21at - Lainey Wilson
- July 18th - Jordan Davis
