Before the taping of Metallica's S&M2 with the San Francisco Symphony the Symphony's bassist approached the band and the producers telling them that he had prepared a bass solo tribute to the late Cliff Burton. Burton died in a tour bus crash in 1986. The band told him to play it during the show and we'll see if it makes it into the show.....it did.

According to an article in Rolling Stone Lars didn't know what to expect when Symphony bassist Scott Pingel came to the stage with his electric stand up bass and some guitar pedals. What happened next can only be described as inspired.

The tribute to Cliff is included in the Metallica S&M2 movie that can be seen October 8th and now added the 13th at a couple theaters in the upstate. Get your tickets HERE
