Troy's Tri-City ValleyCats will open their 2017 season this week.

According to All Over Albany, the season opener will be this Wednesday (June 19) at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium against the Lowell Spinners and it will feature fireworks after the game. It's part of a six-game homestand. Tickets are cheap too! They start at $5.75 and go up to $11. A great night out at an affordable price. You really can't beat it. The Tri-City ValleyCats are a minor league baseball team and 2010 and 2013 New York-Penn League champions. They are the Short-Season A classification affiliate to the Houston Astros. Tri-City refers to the Albany, Schenectady, and Troy area. The team's home stadium Joseph L. Bruno Stadium opened in 2002 on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. The team competes in the Stedler Division with the Vermont Lake Monsters, Connecticut Tiger, and Lowell Spinners.
