Upstate NY’s Animal Adventure Park Announces Name for April the Giraffes Baby

The poor thing has been a part of this world for over 2 weeks without a name!

April the giraffe was in labor for what seemed like eons and after finally giving birth over two weeks ago the poor calf has been without a name while the internet took up a vote on what it should be.

Well, the results are finally in and the baby calf now has a name! According to News 10 the Animal Adventure Park put up several names for the internet to vote on and the top contenders included:

· Apollo
· Geoffrey
· Gio
· Harpur
· Noah
· Ollie
· Patch
· Patches
· Unity

However, they did not quite make the cut and the ultimate winner was "Alyssa's Choice" ... Alyssa is the calf's handler and she picked Tajiri (Taj for short), which means “hope” in Swahili.

If you are looking to go say "Hi" to April and Taj in person the Animal Adventure Parks opening day is scheduled for May 13th!
